We looked into flying with them when we went to Iceland last September. I had heard at the time that Iceland Air was trying to buy them out. Maybe they tried? I don’t know. We had heard... not great things... about flying with them, so we didn’t.

That’s a shame. I flew them from Edinburgh to Newark via Reykjavik after cancelling a bunch of flights and flying to scotland , because they were far and away the cheapest transatlantic flight on zero notice. Even a few days out from the trip, it was about $130 before incidentals (checked bags and carry ons had fees)
They basically ran transatlantic flights like a budget carrier like E asyJet. Nothing free, but super pleasant. I was planning on flying them to Iceland when I eventually decided to take a trio there.

My experience with them is that they were a basic, no-frills budget airline. Definitely no-frills compared with any other transatlantic flight, but more than fine if your only priorities are going from a-to-b without dying.

At a glance it looks like there are v ery few flights from anywhere near me, and prices are much higher.
